Inspired by Fashion Revolution and the idea of buying less we hosted our first clothes swap event earlier this month. Held at the Clapton Laundry, the much talked about home to our very own, founder of Olive Loves Alfie, stylist and mega mum Ashlyn Gibson. This was an evening about fun, friendship, creativity and connection. Also an evening where you get time to do something just for yourself!
We know how important it is to dress up and how clothes can make you feel better about yourself so this was about reinventing even the basics and playing swapsies. With special guests, style bloggers Natalie (Style Me Sunday) and Zoe (Dress Like A Mum) talking about personal style, confidence and fashion, everyone left with lots of new ideas and a few new pieces to kick start their wardrobe for the Summer season. Some of us even came away with pieces that still had their labels on, never worn before!
The infamous rum shack at the Clapton Laundry was turned into a gin bar 'on the house' for the evening by Adnams. As well as the Copper House Gin, we also tried Earl Grey Lager, The Bees Knees alcohol free sparkling wine and Prosecco, thanks Adnams! Yummy gluten and dairy free brownies, provided by local Hackney mama Norah's Brownies. I have to say there were a few sore heads the next day! Thank you to everyone that came, we had so much fun!!!
Goody bags were filled with treats from Compagnie De Provence, Rude Health, Rice, Absolutely Mama, The Fourth Trimester, Hippeas, INPOlife, Lucky Sew and Sew, Haus of Mono, and Punky Moms. Thank you to everyone that contributed!
A massive thank you to Katrina Campbell for taking all of these photos and capturing the evening so well.
